Subcommittee’s consists of the current DVAC Chair & Co-Chair, the past Chair, and Co-Chairs of each DVAC subcommittee. Their mission is to assist setting agendas for monthly meetings, address issues that arise from previous meetings, act as Ad Hoc committee to address personnel issues and grievances, and assist nominating committee for the coming year’s
DVAC Co-Chair position. This group meets monthly on the first Friday of every month.

Interfaith Subcommittee
Held their 5th Annual Candlelight Vigil at Little Rock AME Zion Church on Monday, October 19, 2009. This group also developed a Resource Guide for Clergy this year including resources for the Jewish, Muslim & Christian communities. This group will reconvene in January meeting on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6pm.

Legal
Subcommittee’s mission is to explore ways to improve victim safety and batterer accountability through the legal system.

Mental Health/Substance Abuse
Subcommittee meets monthly at 11:00 AM before the general assembly of the DVAC at the same location. The mission statement reads: "To bring together MH, SA & DV service providers in those fields to build better connections and collaborations and to create a shared understanding of these issues as they co-occur or relate to each other."
A true partnership effort between disciplines, this committee has developed a screening guide that can be used by all 3 professions as well as Sexual Assault counselors, to screen for problems outside of their focus, but which may have a tremendous impact on their clients. The MHSA subcommittee is now looking at the best methods for distribution of this guide, which is available on line at the DVAC website.

Training/Public Awareness
This subcommittee’s mission is to promote Domestic Violence trainings & events and to enhance resource awareness in our community. This group hosts monthly Lunch & Learn workshops, DV homicide Awareness Marches, an annual DV memorial tree and other community events. This subcommittee meets the second Tuesday of every month immediately following the DVAC’s general session.
